Chorley Phoenix club was established in 2021 by a small group of friends and since then, this group of friends grown and grown. We now have two ladies teams, a junior section and Phoenix flyers, which provides fun and inclusive hockey sessions for all disability groups and ages.
We have players that travel to us from a variety of places, including Longridge, Lancaster, Manchester, and of course, Leyland and Chorley. We welcome players of all abilities from years of experience to never held a stick before! Come down to one of our training sessions and join in the fun!

I am just a little bit more passionate about hockey than the average person. I have been involved in hockey for 28 years and have held leadership positions in hockey for 20 years. My role at Chorley Phoenix is Chairperson which involves leading meetings efficiently and generally picking up tasks where there are no owners.
The committee is a great effective team where everyone is working together to achieve the shared belief and outcome that will provide the best way forward for the club.
In my spare time I coach our Juniors, Seniors and Disability sections and attend 2nd Team Games as Team Coach/Manager. Other hockey related interests are Under 16s/17s Lead coach for East Cheshire and I own KABO Hockey. Aside from Hockey I have a fantastic wife and very quickly maturing daughter. My moto is to leave things in a better state than they were when you first touched them.
I have been part of the hockey family since joining my university hockey club many years ago! Throughout my time playing hockey, I have built up amazing friendships, which is what makes playing hockey such a fantastic sport to play.
I have been club captain for Chorley Phoenix since the club began. For me, being club captain, gives me the opportunity to make sure all players feel welcome and part of the team.
I’m Jo, the club treasurer and a long-standing player. I’ve played in the Lancashire adult league since the age of 13, taking on around nine different positions over the years, though I feel most at home in midfield.
I joined Chorley Phoenix about four years ago, but I’ve had the privilege of playing alongside some of my teammates for over 20 years. I really value the structure, ethos, and sense of belonging this club provides.
I love being part of a team and always give 100% effort—whether for myself or my teammates. I never back out of a tackle and thrive on the commitment and energy that comes with the game.
Hi I’m Lyndsay and I joined Chorley Phoenix HC 4 years ago. I played Hockey many years ago but took a break to concentrate on being a family. Hockey is more than a game for me, it’s a social gathering offering friendships whilst playing the sport you love and getting fitter! You won’t find a better group that offers friendships, positivity and a few laughs along the way! I've been on the committee for a few years now, but this year, I have taken on a new role of Welfare officer, which I’m sure will be just as exciting as the game itself!
